Mission

At Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Baltimore, our mission is to inspire and equip all people to Have Faith in God through passionate worship, compassionate service, and intentional discipleship. Rooted in the love of Christ, we strive to build a community of believers who are empowered by faith to transform lives and serve our city and beyond with hope, love, and generosity. 

Vision
 Our vision is to be a beacon of hope and faith in Baltimore-and beyond, where every person encounters  the life-changing power of faith in God.  We envision a faith filled community where hearts are healed, spirits are lifted, minds are renewed and lives are transformed,  as we grow together in faith, serve others, and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Values

1. Faith in God - Faith is the foundation of our lives and church. We trust in God’s promises and live by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

2. Worship - We offer passionate, Christ-centered worship, recognizing that our praise is a response to God’s faithfulness and grace in our lives.

3. Service- We express our faith through service, caring for those in need and working for justice and peace in our community.

4. Discipleship- We believe in growing deeper in our relationship with God by learning, living, and sharing the Word of God.

5. Community- We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone can find belonging, purpose and support through meaningful relationships.
6. Stewardship- We are committed to faithfully managing and multiplying the gifts God has entrusted to us, using them to His glory and the expansion of His kingdom.

Plan

1. Strengthen Discipleship - Expand our discipleship programs through online and in-person Bible studies, faith based learning modules and leadership training called MTZ Academy to help individuals grow in their faith and discover and utilize their spiritual gifts.
2.  Enhance Worship and Fellowship- Create more opportunities for dynamic worship experiences and deepen fellowship among church members, with a special focus on engaging youth, families and seniors.

3.  Expand Community Outreach - Broaden our community service efforts through initiatives like the Senior Center,  Adopt a School Program and support groups, demonstrating God’s love in action to those in need.

4. Grow the Church - Foster sustainable growth by inviting others into our church family through even ageism, small groups, and outreach events, all centered around the message Have Faith in God.
5. Build for the Next Generation- Invest in the spiritual and physical infrastructure of Mt. Zion to ensure that future generations have a strong foundation of faith in God. This includes increasing our digital presence and expanding resources for youth, young adults and families.

By putting our faith in God at the center of our mission, vision, values, and plan we believe we are not only building for today but also laying a strong foundation for generations to come.
