We had just arrived in Ronda, Spain, when the sound of a saxophone filled the streets. The musician’s name was Pasquale, and the song he played was one I knew by heart: What a Friend We Have in Jesus.
It stopped me in my tracks. That very same hymn had already been chosen for worship back home at Mt. Zion for the week. Across an ocean, across cultures, across language barriers, God was weaving one melody.
It was a reminder that the gospel travels. Grace doesn’t stay confined to one sanctuary or one city. The Spirit has a way of showing up in unexpected places, reminding us that wherever we go, we never walk alone.
So today, I want to leave you with this postcard from Spain: God’s presence has no borders. The same Friend who meets us in Baltimore, meets us in Ronda, in the valleys of life, and on the mountaintops of joy.
Reflection
Pause for a moment today and hum a line of What a Friend We Have in Jesus. Let the melody remind you: He is near, He is faithful, and He is always a Friend.

Until next time - grace, peace, and every blessing.
